Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is a procedure where alpha-hydroxy formulations are applied to the skin. The solution remains on the skin when the patient leaves our office and stays on the skin overnight. It is a clear liquid, and not visible.

The peels induce stimulation to new cell growth to promote revitalized skin, along with killing acne bacteria to add in the clearing of acneic skin.

Rejuvenation of the skin tone and texture can be expected over time with appropriate treatments, along with continued good home care.

Our peels are a blend of alpha hydroxy acids, lactic, citric and/or glycolic acids. By removing dull and damaged surface layers, the result is a healthier and more youthful appearance.

Is there any downtime?

Following a chemical peel, your skin may feel tight, dry and “papery”. If actual peeling occurs, it generally will start peeling anywhere from 1 to 4 days following treatment. Peeling may consist of slight flaking to full-on peeling, revealing revitalized, healthier skin

The peel treatments performed are gentle, non-toxic light to medium range peels. These treatment will help stimulate, firm and tighten the skin. The patient may or may not experience actual peeling; each individual is different. A good result may still be achieved, even without the presence of visible exfoliation.

How often can I have a peel?

Peels may be repeated at one to four week intervals
