Acne is a skin disorder that can affect all ages. It can be genetic, but hormonal triggers are also very common.
There is no "cure" for acne, however it can be managed once you find the treatments that that works for you. There may be a "trail and error" phase, so having patience will help you get through this in a more stress free manner.
Often a certain routine will be effective for a while and then you may need to change it up a bit to find a new regimen that works for you.

Below are a few of the options we have to treat acne:
It is common for it to take 6-8 weeks for a new treatment, regimen and prescription to become effective. Patience and consistancy are critical to the successful treatment of acne.
Presriptions: There are many prescriptions available, from oral antibiotics, topicalmedications and Accutane. In some cases, combination therapies will be prescribed. Your medical visit will help answer these questions and may suggest incorporating other treatment options.
Accutane may be recommended by your provider. We have many great successes with this medication, however it is not for every patient and typically other methods will need to be used prior to considering this option.
Extractions: An extraction treatment helps clean and unplug pores, allowing medications and peels to penetrate better for optimal effcacy.
Specialty Peels: Specialty Peels help diminish acne bacteria and stimulate corrected skin cell turnover. Peels are a powerful tool and may be recommended weekly to get ahead of the acne breakouts.
Blue Light Treatments (Blu-U): Mild Blu-U treatments are a quick way to diminish bacteria with no side effects. Blu-U can be "powered-up" when adding a Specialty Peel to you treatment as well.
Microdermabrasions: Microderms are a treatment for acne where pustules and inflammation are not present. Microderms help speed up clearing be removing dead skin off the surface of the skin.
Laser Scar Reduction: Acne scarring may be treated with our CO2 resurfacing or Laser Genysis. Both pitted and color can be significantly improved upon.
Physician Dispensed Skin Care: We offer several physician dispensed products to add into your daily regimen to help clear your skin and maintain results.
